In this article you can read all the important information about the Air Filter System. Both for the Air Filter II, as well as for the Air Filter III.

Air Filter 2

1. How does the Air Filter II look inside?

The air is drawn vertically through the Air Filter System from the housing of the Mr Beam via the exhaust air hose with the aid of a fan in the base of the Air Filter System. In the Air Filter System, the exhaust air first passes through a pre filter [1] (mat or cartridge) before being drawn through the main filter [2].

The pre filter removes all coarse particles from the exhaust air, while the main filter, with the help of the HEPA and activated carbon filter, filters out fine dust and odors. Clean air is then blown out again on the underside of the Air Filter System.

2. Which pre filter variant is the right on for me?

The pink pre-filter mat is suitable for users who either laser less frequently or usually only use materials that cause little material abrasion (e.g. acrylic, felt, concrete, foam rubber, ... ).

The pre-filter cartridge is suitable for power users who generate a lot of material abrasion. Materials such as wood, cardboard, Kraftplex and stamp rubber in particular generate a lot of particles.

Air Filter III

1. How does the Air Filter III look inside?

The air is drawn out of the housing of the Mr Beam via the exhaust hose into the rear of the Air Filter System with the help of a fan in the base of the Air Filter System. There, it first passes through the vertically oriented pre filter [1] before being sucked into the main filter [2] on both sides in order to have the largest surface area available. The clean air is then sucked out of the main filter at the bottom.

The pre-filter removes all coarse particles from the exhaust air, while the main filter, with the help of the HEPA and activated carbon filter, filters out fine dust and odors. Clean air is then blown out again on the underside of the Air Filter System.

You can find out how to change the pre and main filter in this article.

To enable the Air Filter III to be used, it requires an additional power supply unit, which is included in the scope of delivery. Plug this into the back of the Air Filter System next to the Air Filter connection cable.

Note: When plugged in, the Air Filter III performs a brief self-test of the components. The fan is turned on briefly, which is why a short noise can be heard. This is therefore planned and harmless.

Which Air Filter System is right one for me?

The Air Filter III has a much more powerful fan, which increases the air flow. Its use is therefore mainly worthwhile when there is a lot of material abrasion, as we have already described with the pre-filter cartridge for Air Filter II. Air Filter III, however, pushes this to another level. Additionally, the filters used in Air Filter III are larger than those used in Air Filter II, making them not only more efficient at filtering air, but also longer lasting. Of course, the filters still need to be changed from time to time. You can find out how this works with both Air Filter systems in this article.

All in all, the Air Filter III is suitable for all frequent users of the Mr Beam who also work with materials with a lot of abrasion.

Apart from that, the Air Filter III requires more power due to the stronger fan. Therefore, an extra power supply unit is needed, which is of course included in the scope of delivery.
