With the Mr Beam SketchBlock, you can turn your drawings, handwritten text or signatures into digital laser files in just a few steps – ready for engraving or cutting.

The SketchBlock is automatically recognized by the Mr Beam camera and opens QuickExtract, allowing you to convert your drawing directly into a design in BeamOS.

Requirements: BeamOS 2.0, software version 2.7.0 "Edelweiß" or newer and installed Aruco markers.

1. Draw your design

Draw or write your idea directly on the Mr Beam SketchBlock.

Black → Engraving
Color → Cutting contour

Tip: Use bold, clearly visible colors and sufficiently thick lines. Very light colors or fine lines may be more difficult to detect.

2. Place the SketchBlock inside your Mr Beam

Place the SketchBlock sheet inside your Mr Beam.

Thanks to the Aruco markers, the camera automatically recognizes the SketchBlock and opens QuickExtract.

3. Optimize the detection

Check the preview to make sure your drawing has been detected correctly.

If too much of the background is detected, adjust Threshold or Tolerance as needed.

4. Choose the contour

Choose how you want your design to be converted in QuickExtract:

  • Outer contour
  • Inner contour
  • Centerline
  • Pixel graphic

5. Adjust your design and start lasering

Once you are happy with the result, click OK.

Your design is now available in BeamOS. You can move it, enlarge or reduce its size and use it for engraving or cutting as usual.
